Bulerias 3ala Dabke
Bulerias is a Flamenco sub-genre native to Andalusia that has a uniquely complex and fast rhythmic signature. Dabke is a traditional Middle Easter group dance often performed at weddings and other celebratory gatherings. Bulerias has a 12/8 time signature, with emphasis on certain beats – typically the 12th, 3rd, 7th, 8th and 10th beats. At a first glance, the Bulerias time signature would appear incompatible with the relatively basic 4/4 time signature of the Dabke. Bulerias 3ala Dabke (bulerias over dabke) proves otherwise, while authentically preserving duende (the heightened state of emotion of each musical expression).
